3 Easy Ways To Upgrade Your Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the more difficult rooms in the house to renovate on a budget. Ripping counters and appliances out is expensive; but what if you still want that fresh and new feel but don’t have the money? It’s easy to get annoyed by everything being just not quite right, but don’t despair. Whether you’re renting, don't want to make any big changes or just don’t have the cash, here are 3 ways you can feel better about the state of your kitchen.

  1. DIY drawer dividers
It’s the little touches that make a kitchen. Being able to easily and quickly move around and do exactly what you need to do is one of the perks of a well designed space. If you’ve not got it, don’t sit around moping about it- make it yourself! A kitchen isn’t complete without drawer dividers, but a lot of low end kitchens fail to have them built in. Add them yourself using a few sanded planks of wood and some glue. Place them diagonally to make them less likely to move and voila, you can finally find the forks!
  2. Revamp chairs and tables
It might not be the easiest thing in the world to redo the counter, but fortunately it is that easy to jazz up chairs and tables. For tables, simply pick a fabric and get decorating, if you’re worried about stains, cover your fabric of choice with a cheap plastic table cover. For chairs, get the paint brush out and get creative with colour, brightly coloured chairs are all the rage right now and it’s a super easy trend to copy!
  3. Add art
The kitchen isn’t normally the room that springs to mind when you think of art, but it’s a surprisingly good spot for colour and creativeness, so don’t discount it just yet! Whether you’re deciding where to hang your favourite paintings, or which room and wall would be best for a mural- the kitchen’s always a good choice. Although abstract art can work well, art that follows the strong lines and structure of the kitchen can make for the perfect instagram shot!
