3 ways to fit bursts of colour into your décor

Use of colour is a big part of design, our eyes see in colour and yes, black and white interiors can be just as charming, sometimes you just need to give a little bit of love and thanks to our friend colour.

  1. One way to add zip and pep to same colour chairs and tables is to add multicolour throws, cushions and table clothes. Matching these with each other ties the space together and, we've got to admit, relaxes us on even the busiest days.
  2. Paintings and big pieces are a fantastic way to add a dash of colour to a plain wall or area of a room. Now, we're not saying you need to go crazy and whack that glow in the dark clock you got for Christmas up, but, add a dash of extras in clever places where otherwise it's looking a tad bare and you can hold your head high next time you're comparing yourself to the neighbour!
  3. When we think of adding splashes of colour to a wall, we don't often think of the base paint colour, but there's lots of fancy little tricks to add colour to walls using wallpaper and paint that don't have to be the entire wall. As an example, walls can alternate in colour- this works really well if you happen to have one wall smaller than the others that would fit a darker colour, it lets you to use it without that colour taking over the entire room.
