3 Ways To A Larger Looking Living Space

3 Ways To A Larger Looking Living Space

We can do a lot of things to our house to make it seem larger than it actually is. More light, neutral colour palettes and mirrors are just three of the low budget things we can invest in to help make a space look bigger.  So put the sledgehammer down, and take note of these 3 tips...

  1. Neutral Walls
It may seem simple but white really is the answer to everything. Painting your walls white can set off all the deeper colours at the front and make a room look like it has more depth to it. Light reflects more on brighter surfaces, and the more light reflects the more our brain is tricked into thinking a space is larger than it is. Interior professionals use this trick constantly in all their designs!
  2. Declutter Your Space
We’ve all heard it before, but we’ll say it again because it’s true, the less that’s in a room the more space you have to move, and the better you’ll feel about it. We wouldn't advise shoving everything under the sofa, take the time to have a proper clear out, this way it’s easier to tweak the layout of the room later on.
  3. Invest In Mirrors
Hanging mirrors in strategic places can work wonders for tricking the brain into thinking a space is larger than it is. This trick works excellently in bathrooms, but it also works well along hallways, cupboards and living rooms.
