How To Hide Cheap Furniture
March 29, 2019
We’ve all been on a budget at some point or other, but that doesn’t mean anybody has to notice! Whether you’ve invested in some cheap and flimsy wooden drawers or a bare metal rack, there’s lots of different ways to make that piece of furniture look fabulous-despite its cost.
Of course, that bare metal rack is going to stick out like a sore thumb in the standard run of the mill home. But, take a leap into the unknown and style around your furniture, and it’s a very different story. Avoid fabrics and keep to minimal clean edges, use as much metal and harsh materials as you can find; think, masculine! Thankfully these materials are all just as cheap as the furniture itself!
When it comes to cheap wood, embrace that style! Use bare surfaces around the room, stick to natural looking materials such as wood and rocks, and place plants. Use bright (but not too attention grabbing) colours on walls and other furniture. Don’t forget, if needed, wood can be easily painted! It’s better to stay away from staining the cheapest wood-as it can sometimes be painfully obvious when you tried to grab a good bargain. Instead, you could attach patterns or wallpaper to cover up dents, marks and flaws in the design. Spend some time on this- when you’re low on money, time is your best friend.
