You could buy that brand new wardrobe you’ve had your eye on for a while, or, you could save yourself a small fortune and see what you can manage with the current one. Paint and decoration is your best friend here, but it’s best to start out by completely stripping an old wardrobe before building it back up again.
First, take a good look at your wardrobe and remove or cover any stickers, marks or dents. Small dents can be filled with paint, but larger gashes may need special wood filler or a makeshift covering. If you’re confident in what you’re going for, a bright shade of paint and a new set of handles can look amazing for practically no cost. But if you’re more on the shy side of design, investing in some sort of additional decoration- such as a medallion or beads, could be perfect for you.
If you’re renting, or simply don’t want to potentially ruin your beautiful wardrobe, there are plenty of stick-on designs available too. Not just in bold patterns or for adding lines, you can also get plain faux-paint looks. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, but don’t want to commit to anything, try reflective stick-ons. Not only do these look amazing in a modern and clean room, but they also trick the eyes into thinking that tiny little nook you call a bedroom actually has space! You can even make this add-on yourself, with the help of some simple aluminium flashing and a pair of cutters. Make sure to change the knobs to match your new look and voila, boring be gone!
