Top Tip: Sorting Out Three Bedroom Trouble Spots

Top Tip: Sorting Out Three Bedroom Trouble Spots

Bedrooms are one of the hardest rooms in the house to organise and if you’re not careful you’ll find yourself buried in a mound of winter clothes and mugs next time you try to sleep! Sometimes it can be difficult to identify just what it is that’s causing your room to look past it’s best, but often it’s the same tricky spots that either clutter up quickly or tend to kill the vibe. Here are the three most important spots interior design experts most often see neglected:

  1. The wardrobe
Storing clothing is a difficult task, there’s so much of it and all of it is needed. Not only that, but we use that space so often that it very easily becomes cluttered as we’re deciding what to wear and what to not. On top of this, functional spaces such as the wardrobe tend to be overlooked style wise. Make sure that however much you use a particular space, you always keep in mind it needs as much love and attention as the rest of the room! If you’re struggling with your wardrobe, try a DIY wardrobe setup for extra space.
  2. The bed itself
We’re not your mother and we can’t hang over you in the morning and remind you to make your bed, but honestly, it really does make a difference. A well made and wall cleaned bed, with crisp and clean sheets- is one of the nicest things to go to sleep in at night, nevermind the fact that it looks great during the day! Don’t forget about the pillows, these fluffy head friends may need changing every once and awhile- even if regularly washed.
  3. Storage
There can’t be a right or wrong way to design shelving, right? Wrong. Keep your shelving clean and open, and make sure to match it with the look of the room. If you’re running out of space, or just out of patience, make your own to perfectly fit whatever vibe you’re looking for. Storage benches are another great way to catch clutter and the great thing about them is that they don’t need organising inside (although you may regret that when you need to find something!)
