For decades the traditional dining room consisted of a large and long table surrounded by several perfectly matched and polished chairs. It’s likely you’re still following this rule in your home. But if you are, stop. You’re doing it all wrong! Matching dining room chairs is so last year. Yes, it may be convenient just to buy all your chairs from one set and roll with it. But honestly, we’ve loving the mismatched chair look as a surefire way to turn even the most boring dining rooms into design-heaven. Let’s be honest, there’s not much that you can do to a large table. Yes, you could paint it, or decorate it with flowers or candles. But just think how much easier it is to whack a few coloured chairs in there instead. Wham, bam, good design!
Bring an old wooden table up to the current century with a quick layer of paint on a few chairs. Not only does it look cool, but it doesn’t damage the wood of the actual table- leaving you to change your mind at any point in the future. Bright colours not your thing? Different styles of chairs work just as well. As long as your chairs have at least one characteristic in common, they’re bound to work with whatever arrangement you put them in. Keep either the colour, material, style or size the same and always make sure your chairs don’t clash with your table. We love a single bold chair in an odd colour or made with an odd material, for a stylish twist on a traditional look.

So, what is your opinion on sofas in the bedroom… yay or nay? If you are thinking about purchasing a sofa for the bedroom, definitely make sure you keep size in mind. Whilst having a sofa in the bedroom is cool, if your sofa is too large it may leave your room looking too cluttered and overpowered by the sofa.
