Following the pandemic, this is first festive season without any form of restrictions.
We’re finally free for frivolity! And literally everyone – including the true bah humbugs – are looking forward to the little things. Comfort food. Family gatherings. Hugs with Nanna. And importantly, the time-honoured tradition of decking the halls.

Two quintessential Christmas colours that are set to be a huge trend this year.
As we look towards a ‘normal’ Christmas, we’re craving all things traditional. Turkey on the table. Heart-warming gifts under the tree. And Christmas room décor packed full of nostalgia.
The great thing about this look? It’s an investment.
Traditions stand the test of time for a reason, and this is a colour scheme that’s likely to return year after year. So why not splurge on some new baubles? Treat your lounge to an heirloom-style ornament, such as a winter scene or nutcracker soldier. And cover your sofa in festive cushions.
Throw out the rulebook on Christmas colour palettes.
This contemporary festive trend is all about unconventional pastel shades and classic paper decorations. Think dusty pink, baby blue, lilac and pistachio green baubles. Honeycomb papier-mâché trees on the coffee table. And strings of white paper stars along your feature wall.

Boho Christmas home decorations are officially a thing. And if you’re a fan of a cosy au natural aesthetic, this is the yuletide trend for you.
The key is to mix textures. Pick out a tree with snow-touched branches and intermingle these with soft plumes of pampas grass. Go for a winter sun palette in tones of dusky blush, beige and cream. And finish the look with eco-friendly wooden tree decs and macramé wall features.
Worried it’ll be too pared-back? To ramp up the festive feel, just add a dose of rose gold glitter.

The goal is to conjure up a cosy cabin feel in your own home.
To dial up the hygge, you’ll need a combination of soft natural materials and a muted palette of white and dusty blue. Place a frosted pine tree at the side of your fireplace. Add fluffy pom-pom baubles and rows of supersized tinsel. Then complete the look with starry garlands and stockings.
Perfect for snuggly nights on the sofa with your seasonal bestie – mulled wine, ofc.
